Love all of this...one thing I find normal elastic super irritating on the waistband, because it will fold even inside a casing. I have elastic with ribs called non-roll...And my favorite way to fix a hole in t-shirt material is to use a thread and basically gather the hole closed by catching every thread around the hole and pulling it tight on the wrong side...if it is a large hole, you can see it more, a small hole and it is impossible to see.

Thank you for sharing this touching story. I started sewing in 2020 out of necessity ... I now have a 2 year old daughter, we created a tradition where we'd shop the remnant bin at Joann's on weekends, depending on what we'd find I'd give her some patterns (usually dresses) to choose rom to make from our find. We'd spent as little as 68 cents but the memories I have from them are priceless.

What is a flat rolled seam??? Also can we sew other garments with no side seams???

You didn't go over how to sew the pockets in, and I found that to be super challenging as a newbie sewer. I had to take it apart and sew it together about four times. I'd suggest adding a "for more info on sewing pockets in" blurb in the video and link us to a good video for it. Yes, It's probably obvious to you, but us newbies really need the step by step help. If you did that and I just missed it, thanks!!
